Takashi KANNO, MD, PhD*

In the evolution of medical science, experimental science contributed to remarkable progress in applied clinical science. Clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine were formally included as minor branches of life science. New concepts in translational research influence all fields of medical science. Translational research is defined as the bridging of advanced experimental science to life science. Based on advanced molecular bioscience, the design of research should be built up and strategically expanded.
In this symposium, concepts and experimental approaches to translational trials will be presented and discussed.
